Procedure
- 1
Pre-dissolve sodium hyaluronate in a portion of the water (allow 24h to hydrate).
- 2
Weigh Phase A (remaining water, glycerin, HA solution). Sprinkle xanthan gum while stirring.
- 3
Weigh Phase C (Olivem 1000, rosehip, squalane, shea, cetyl alcohol, beeswax) in a heat-safe beaker.
- 4
Heat both Phase A and Phase C to 75C.
- 5
Pour Phase C into Phase A. Blend with stick blender for 5 minutes until smooth and uniform.
- 6
Allow to cool to below 40C, stirring regularly to prevent separation.
- 7
Add Phase D (ceramide complex, Vitamin E, lavender EO, Geogard ECT). Mix gently.
- 8
Check pH. Adjust to 5.3 - 5.8 using lactic acid (to lower) or NaOH (to raise).
- 9
Pour into sterilized jars. Label and date.
Tips & Notes
- •Target pH: 5.3 - 5.8.
- •This is an advanced formula due to multiple phases and temperature-sensitive actives.
- •Geogard ECT must stay below 50C-add in the cool-down phase only.
- •Rosehip oil is light-sensitive; store the finished product in opaque or amber containers.
- •The combination of squalane + ceramides creates a skin-identical lipid barrier.
