Recording batches is how you track every production run in Formuley. Each batch links to a formula, captures production details, and optionally deducts raw materials from your inventory.
Formuley now separates runs into three levels:
There are two ways to begin:
Both paths take you to the batch creation form.
If you are still testing a draft formula, start with Bench instead of forcing a production-style batch too early.
Choose a formula from the dropdown. Each option shows the formula name followed by its total weight in parentheses -- for example, "Lavender Body Butter (500 g)." Once you select a formula, the raw material preview populates automatically.
A date picker defaults to today's date. Change it if you are logging a batch that was produced on a different day.
The Scale Factor field controls the batch size relative to the original formula:
Enter any decimal value to scale to your needs.
When a formula is selected, a preview table appears showing:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Raw Material / Trade Name | Each row in the formula charge sheet |
| Amount | Quantity after applying the scale factor |
| In Stock | A check mark if you have enough, or a warning icon if stock is insufficient |
| Cost | Raw material cost for this batch based on current unit prices |
This preview helps you verify that you have the materials on hand before starting production.
Below the raw materials preview table, a summary section displays:
Fill in the production specifics:
The Deduct from Inventory checkbox controls whether Formuley automatically subtracts the raw material amounts from your stock levels. This option is only available when the batch status is set to Completed. For batches in other statuses (Planned, In Progress, Failed, Quarantine), inventory is not deducted.
For Bench runs, inventory deduction is normally left off so experiments do not accidentally behave like released production.
Click Save Batch to record the batch. You are redirected to the Batches list page, where your new batch appears with its status, formula name, and date.
Use Making Mode for guided batch production with Ny, step-by-step weighing, saved progress, optional voice controls, and Business batch evidence capture.
Document batches with photos, quality checks, stability tests, cure tracking, PDF exports, and custom batch numbering.
