Publish and manage Marketplace formulas

What you will accomplish

Publish a formula snapshot to the Marketplace, understand free and premium eligibility, complete review and payout setup, and manage the listing without confusing it with your private source formula.

Before you start

• Confirm you own or are authorized to publish the formula and its supporting text. You retain ownership of your content; read the current Terms of Service for the controlling IP terms.
• The source formula needs at least 3 ingredients, recognizable ingredient data, a useful title and description, a category, and a total between 95% to 105%.
• Free publishing is available across self-serve plans. Premium selling requires an eligible paid Maker-or-higher plan, is unavailable during a trial, and is not enabled for Enterprise custom-contract accounts by default.
• A Beginner listing is always free.

1. Open the creator flow

Go to Marketplace → My Marketplace at /community/manage, select Publish formula, and choose a formula you own. Confirm the public display name and bio attached to the listing.

2. Choose listing access and price

Choose Free or Premium. Free listings expose percentage ranges in the public view. Premium listings keep exact percentages locked until purchase. The publishing snapshot preserves exact ingredient percentages for import fidelity.

A premium listing must be priced from $1.00 through $999.00. Before premium publication, connect and finish Stripe payouts from Creator payouts. If payout onboarding is incomplete or paused, premium publication or purchase remains unavailable.

3. Complete the listing details and preview

Provide a specific title, description, category, tags, procedure, and tips. Review the public preview for authorship, price, ingredient visibility, method clarity, and any Product OS or haircare context carried into the listing snapshot.

4. Submit for Marketplace review

Submission runs deterministic formula checks, then a quality review. Failed deterministic checks are rejected. Premium listings always enter Pending for manual review. A free listing can be approved, sent to manual review, or rejected based on its checks.

Publishing is rate-limited in production: creators with fewer than 5 approved listings can make 3 submissions in a 24-hour window; creators with 5 or more approved listings can make 10 submissions in that window.

5. Monitor price, commission, and payouts

Use /community/manage to review listing status, views, saves, purchase count, rating, revenue, and Creator payouts. Marketplace commission is calculated from the seller tier at purchase time. The creator payout card is the account-specific source of truth for the current weekly interval, payout delay, paused state, and Stripe onboarding status.

6. Unpublish or delete responsibly

Use Unpublish to hide a listing from the public catalog. A listing with purchase history cannot be deleted; unpublish it instead so buyer purchase and import history remain intact. A listing without purchase history can be permanently deleted after confirmation.

Publication creates a Marketplace snapshot; it does not transfer ownership of your private source record to Formuley. The public catalog states that creators retain authorship and grant only the access described by the current settings and Terms of Service.

Check your work

• The listing in /community/manage shows the expected Published, Pending review, Rejected, or Hidden state.
• Beginner work is free, and premium work has a valid price and completed Stripe payout setup.
• Public percentage visibility matches the free or premium choice.
• Creator payout status shows connected details, an interval, and the current payout delay or manual state.
• The source formula remains private unless you separately changed its own visibility.

If something does not look right

• If validation rejects the listing, correct the source data and listing detail named in the message before resubmitting.
• If a premium listing stays pending, wait for manual review; do not submit duplicate copies.
• If Stripe payouts are paused or incomplete, use Continue Stripe setup, Refresh status, or Open payout dashboard in /community/manage.
• If Delete is disabled, the listing has purchase history. Use Unpublish.
• For ownership or license questions, rely on the current Terms of Service, not copied marketplace text.
