Browse and Evaluate Formulas

Open /community/formulas to browse listings, then open any formula detail page.

You can review:

• Category and difficulty
• Description, method, and tips
• Author profile and listing stats
• Free vs premium access state

Free vs Premium Access

• Free formula: Anyone can browse it. Pro and above can import it into My Formulas.
• Premium formula: Exact ingredient percentages stay locked until purchase is completed, and premium checkout is available on Pro and above.

Buy a Premium Formula

1. Open a premium formula detail page.
2. Click Buy Formula.
3. Complete Stripe checkout.
4. After payment, Formuley records the purchase and unlocks import access.

If checkout is canceled, you are returned to the formula page without purchase.

Import a Formula

To import, use the listing's Import to My Formulas flow (/community/formulas/[slug]/import).

Import creates a new private draft formula in your account with:

• The listing title and description
• Copied category, method steps, and tips
• Raw materials mapped by INCI name or common name when possible
• Placeholder raw materials created automatically if no local match exists

Percentage behavior on import:

• Premium purchased formulas import exact percentages
• Free formulas import the midpoint of each visible range

Purchase and Import Rules

• Free and Maker can browse the catalog, but they cannot buy or import marketplace formulas.
• You cannot purchase your own formula.
• Premium formulas require a completed purchase before importing.
• If already purchased, checkout is skipped and import can proceed directly.
• Premium purchases are one-time per formula per account.

Common Status Messages

• buy=cancelled: Checkout was canceled
• buy=failed: Purchase could not be completed
• buy=upgrade_required: Your plan does not include Marketplace checkout
• buy=purchased: Purchase confirmed
• import=upgrade_required: Your plan does not include Marketplace import
• import=purchase_required: Premium formula needs purchase before import
• import=failed: Import failed

When import fails after a successful purchase, retry import from the formula page.
