Buy and import Marketplace formulas

What you will accomplish

Choose a Marketplace listing, understand its access state, complete premium checkout when required, and create a private formula draft from the listing snapshot.

Before you start

• Anyone can browse approved public listings at /community/formulas.
• Marketplace purchase and import require Pro and above. The listing action explains when sign-in or an upgrade is required.
• A premium purchase is a one-time charge and does not auto-renew. Review the current Refund & Cancellation Policy and checkout acknowledgements before paying.
• Marketplace formulas may be creator-authored or AI-assisted. You remain responsible to review, test and validate an imported formula before production or commercial use.

1. Evaluate the listing

Open a formula from /community/formulas. Review the creator, category, difficulty, description, method, tips, ingredient visibility, and review state. Free listings can show percentage ranges publicly; premium exact percentages remain locked until purchase.

2. Open premium checkout when required

For an eligible premium listing, select Buy Formula. You cannot purchase your own listing. The review page shows the listing, creator, total, and required acknowledgements before Continue to Stripe.

Accept the current refund-policy summary, immediate-access acknowledgement, and content-review reminder. Stripe then collects the payment and Terms acceptance. A canceled checkout returns to the listing without completing the purchase.

3. Receive or import the private draft

After a successful premium checkout, Formuley automatically creates the private draft and redirects you to that formula. There is no separate import click in the normal paid checkout path.

For a free listing, select Import to My Formulas. The manual import action is for free listings, later returns, or a retry after a paid checkout completed but automatic draft creation failed. Formuley gives duplicate titles an imported suffix instead of overwriting an existing formula.

The draft copies the listing snapshot, including available description, category, formula type, batch or yield context, notes, procedure, method steps, phases, amounts, and the exact percentage snapshot preserved at publication. A free listing may display public ranges, but import does not substitute the range midpoint when the exact snapshot is available.

4. Review ingredient matching and new records

Formuley first looks for one of your raw materials by INCI name, then by common name. If there is no match, it creates a new raw-material record with zero cost and zero stock. Review every created or matched material before relying on cost, stock, supplier, or compliance results.

5. Understand purchase and draft states

The completed purchase stores its imported-formula reference when automatic draft creation succeeds. If payment completed but draft creation failed, the purchase history remains and you can return to the listing to retry the import without another checkout. A purchased listing cannot be deleted by the creator, although it can be unpublished.

Check your work

• The imported formula appears as a private Draft in your formula library.
• Existing formulas were not overwritten.
• Ingredient phase, amount, unit, percentage, method, and notes match the purchased or free listing snapshot.
• Newly created raw materials are reviewed for INCI, cost, stock, and supplier data.
• You have tested and validated the formula for your own materials, process, scale, market, and intended claims.

If something does not look right

• If the action asks for sign-in or an upgrade, sign in and confirm Pro-or-higher Marketplace import access.
• If a premium import says purchase is required, confirm Stripe returned a completed payment before retrying.
• If an ingredient matched the wrong local record, correct the private draft and raw-material mapping before costing or batching.
• If checkout or refund status is unclear, use the Refund & Cancellation Policy and its current support contact.
