Start a product development project
Create a development record for the product being built.
Watch the workflowWhat you will accomplish
Create a product development record from a clear brief, then connect the formula, sample, and packaging work that supports the product direction. The record keeps related work visible before you create or open its Product OS launch file.
This record is evidence for review. It does not automatically grant QA approval or release the product.
Before you start
- Prepare a short product name and brief.
- Decide whether the initial Status should be Brief or Development.
- If your account shows Workspace, know which client or internal workspace owns the work.
Create the development record
- Open Product Development at
/projects. - Select Start development.
- Choose the appropriate Workspace when that field is shown.
- Enter the Product or development name.
- Choose the Status.
- Enter the Product brief.
- Select Create development record.
Connect the formula candidate
- Open the formula candidate from Formulas.
- Find Development brief on the formula record.
- Choose the new record under Linked project.
- Select Save Project Link.
Connect specifications, samples, and packaging
- Use Formula specs to add measurable requirements.
- Use Sample activity to issue a controlled sample.
- Use Packaging variants to capture the proposed packout.
- Return to the project from Open Project.
The project’s Development path summarizes Brief, Formula, Samples, Packaging, and Product OS connections. Its Ready and Next labels describe record completeness, not approval.
Check your work
- Open the development record and confirm the product name, brief, and status.
- Confirm the formula appears under Formula candidates.
- Confirm sample and packaging counts reflect the records you connected.
If something does not look right
- If Workspace is required appears, select an available workspace and try again.
- If a project is missing from Linked project, confirm the formula and project belong to the same workspace.
- If a linked formula does not appear immediately, refresh the project record after Save Project Link completes.
