Ask Formuley for help
Open Ask Formuley without leaving the product area you are working in.
Watch the workflowWhat you will accomplish
You will choose between Ask Formuley, premium AI actions, and Ny in Making Mode. You will also know which outputs are screening or drafting support and which decisions still need supplier evidence, bench testing, QA, a qualified formulator, or a qualified regulatory reviewer.
Before you start
Identify the decision you need help with and open the relevant formula, batch, compliance, cost, quote, or product record when safe context would help. Do not paste secrets or personal data that the task does not require. Premium actions, quotas, and organization AI policy can vary by plan and workspace; use the access message shown in the product as the current source.
Use Ask Formuley
- Open Ask Formuley. Use the in-product AI control from the current page.
- Ask one specific cosmetic or product-workflow question. Include the product type, observed issue, intended result, and relevant constraints.
- Review the context used. Confirm that the answer refers to the intended record or the facts you supplied.
- Use linked next actions deliberately. Open the recommended record, calculator, compliance check, or Help guide and verify the source data there.
- Continue with a focused follow-up. Ask for assumptions, missing evidence, or the next validation step instead of requesting a final approval.
Ask Formuley can help navigate the product, link saved records, explain cosmetic formulation concepts, create a guided brief, screen a formula, suggest controlled alternatives, troubleshoot an issue, and answer regulatory questions. Normal chat stays bounded: it does not provide copy-ready finished formulas or freely expose exact formula percentages, supplier secrets, private costs, or live production detail.
Use premium AI actions
- Choose a guided brief for a new product direction. It organizes product architecture, ingredient classes, risks, and validation work without creating a finished recipe.
- Choose formula review for a saved formula. It screens structural, pH, preservation, temperature, fragrance, and process concerns from the safe available context.
- Choose alternatives or troubleshooting for an experiment. Treat suggestions as test lanes, not automatic substitutions.
- Choose a pre-batch check before operator work. Review traceability, process, and readiness findings before opening Making Mode.
- Verify the artifact. Check its confidence, rationale, validation checklist, missing information, and required human handoff.
If a model response cannot be used safely, a premium action can return deterministic guidance instead. Either source remains advisory and requires verification.
Use Ny in Making Mode
- Open Making Mode for the intended batch. Ny is the live batch guidance specialist rather than the general formulation assistant.
- Ask about the current production step. Use Ny for step progress, checklist state, and the next supported bench action.
- Confirm the visible batch state. The operator remains responsible for the material, lot, amount, measurement, timer, quality result, and step completion.
- Escalate deviations outside voice guidance. Record and resolve safety, quality, or release issues through the controlled batch and review process.
Apply the AI boundary
Ask Formuley does not auto-update or auto-approve downstream formula, quote, sample, transfer, batch, or release records. It is never final QA, regulatory, or release authority. AI output is decision support and screening; it cannot verify a supplier document, observe a bench result, run a stability or challenge test, confirm a measurement, or make a legal release judgment.
- Verify facts against their source. Check formulas, supplier documents, test results, regulatory sources, and product records directly.
- Run the required physical work. Complete bench, stability, compatibility, preservation, safety, scale-up, and quality testing appropriate to the product.
- Use qualified review. Route formulation, safety, regulatory, QA, and release decisions to the person qualified and authorized to make them.
- Record the human decision. Preserve the evidence and rationale in the controlled workflow rather than relying on chat history.
Check your work
- The AI request was specific and limited to the intended cosmetic or Formuley workflow.
- The response identifies assumptions, uncertainty, or missing information where relevant.
- Every record link, formula fact, regulatory statement, and suggested action has been independently verified.
- No AI response has been treated as an automatic update, approval, or release decision.
- A qualified person owns the final formulation, safety, regulatory, QA, and production judgment.
If something does not look right
- If Ask Formuley refers to the wrong record, open the intended record and ask again with a clear identifier.
- If a premium action is unavailable, review the in-product access or policy message; quotas and organization controls can block the action.
- If a response invents a fact or lacks a source, do not use it; verify the underlying record and rerun the bounded workflow.
- If exact confidential detail appears unnecessary, stop and remove it from the request.
- If Ny's guidance conflicts with the batch record or SOP, follow the controlled record and escalate to the authorized production or quality owner.
