What you will accomplish
Start a class assignment, develop and check your formula work, submit it for instructor review, respond to revision feedback, and preserve approved evidence.
Before you start
- Open
/education/my-classesand confirm the correct class and institution. - Student access is limited to enrolled classes, your own assignments, approved school-safe tools, and your own portfolio or certificates.
- Tool availability depends on the institution's student-workspace mode. Business areas such as billing, suppliers, invoices, production, integrations, team management, and unrelated institutions are not student surfaces.
- Open and start the assignment
From /education/my-classes, open the class and select a published assignment. Read the brief, instructions, due date, notes requirement, and teacher expectations. Select Start Assignment when the assignment is open.
- Develop the linked formula work
Use the formula workspace created or linked by the assignment. Record the formula, ingredient data, method, and required student notes. Work only with the tools enabled by your institution.
For separate practice, use /education/student-lab when it is enabled. Student Lab creates a private practice workspace; practice work does not become a graded submission unless the assignment flow explicitly links it.
- Run a formative check
Select Check My Formula when the assignment offers it. The result is formative feedback, not a grade. Use it to find items worth reviewing, then apply your own reasoning and instructor guidance.
- Submit for instructor review
Review the attached formula and required notes, then select Submit or the resubmission label shown for the current state. Submitted work becomes review evidence; you may not be able to keep editing it until the instructor requests a revision.
- Respond to feedback and resubmit
If the status is needs revision, read the instructor feedback, update the linked work, and resubmit from the assignment page. Do not treat an automated check as a substitute for the instructor's requested changes.
- Manage approved evidence
After approval, use /education/portfolio to create an export-safe case-study entry when that action is available. Use /education/certificates to view school-issued credentials. Portfolio and certificate views do not expose full private formulas or instructor comments by default.
Check your work
- The assignment is attached to the correct class and institution.
- Required notes and formula changes are saved before submission.
- The page shows Submitted, Approved, or needs revision as expected.
- Revision feedback was addressed before you resubmit.
- Portfolio or certificate evidence contains only information approved for that surface.
If something does not look right
- If a class is missing, confirm the invite or enrollment with your instructor.
- If Start Assignment or Submit is unavailable, check the published state and deadline message on the page.
- If a tool redirects to access denied, the institution has not enabled it for your student mode.
- If feedback is unclear, ask the instructor; Check My Formula and AI cannot make the final classroom decision.
Next steps
- Return to
/education/my-classesfor the next assignment. - Open
/education/student-labfor ungraded practice when enabled. - Review approved work at
