What you will accomplish

Create one Product Launch file that connects the product brief, formula, evidence, release work, and next action without treating an incomplete record as approval.

Before you start

  • Open Product OS at /product-launch.
  • Prepare the product name and first target market.
  • Decide whether to start blank, connect an existing formula, or continue from Product Development.
  • Begin with the formula or development record your team is already using. Do not create duplicate launch files just to try a different starting point.

Create the launch file

  1. Select New launch file.
  2. Enter the Product name.
  3. Under Where should this launch begin?, choose Start blank, Use a formula, or Continue development.
  4. Select the formula or Product Development record when the chosen source requires one.
  5. Choose the First market.
  6. Add the optional Launch brief with the product intent, audience, claims direction, and success criteria.
  7. Select Create and continue.

Follow the product journey

The launch file organizes work into four stages:

  • Define: brief, formula, and ingredients.
  • Prepare: packaging, claims, and testing.
  • Release: compliance, label, and batch evidence.
  • Launch: finished-goods launch and post-market quality.

Open the current stage and connect the evidence that already exists. The original formula, study, or document keeps its details; the launch file shows how it supports the product journey.

Check your work

  • The launch file uses the intended product name, first market, and source.
  • The linked formula or Product Development record is the correct one.
  • The Current stage and next action match the evidence connected so far.
  • Missing work is visible as review, blocked, or not started rather than silently marked complete.
  • The launch file has not been treated as QA, regulatory, or manufacturing approval.

If something does not look right

  • If a formula is missing, confirm it belongs to the current account or organization and is not archived.
  • If a development record is missing, open /projects and confirm the record and its workspace.
  • If the wrong source was connected, stop before adding more evidence and correct the launch record instead of creating parallel product histories.
  • If an action is locked, review the plan or role shown by the product. Some controlled evidence and release actions require a higher plan or permission.
