GMP and manufacturer handoffs

Use GMP records, batch documentation, and handoff packages to turn internal formulation work into controlled manufacturing release material.

Overview

/gmp is the release-document backbone for controlled manufacturing workflows.

The core surfaces are:

  • /gmp/mfr for master formula and specification records
  • /gmp/bpr for executed batch production records
  • /gmp/handoffs for manufacturer-facing release packages
  1. Finalize the master/specification view in /gmp/mfr.
  2. Record executed production evidence in /gmp/bpr.
  3. Package controlled release material in /gmp/handoffs.

What a handoff package should include

  • approved formulation or specification context
  • batch execution evidence where required
  • release and recipient details
  • enough traceability to reconcile the package back to the product and batch record

Launch checks

  • Do not rely on GMP records that are disconnected from the current formula or batch state.
  • Do not send manufacturer-facing documents before compliance, INCI, and label assumptions are settled.
  • Keep pending approvals and open deviations visible before release.
